Zafferana Etnea, centro estivo ed invernale per l'Etna, sorge a 574 m sul livello del mare, sulle pendici orientali del vulcano più attivo d'Europa. Il paese deve il suo nome al termine arabo "Zafaran", che significa giallo, il colore delle ginestre selvatiche che rappresentano il fiore tipico della zona, nonchè il colore dello zafferano , diffusissimo nei boschi circostanti. P.zza Umberto I , centrale luogo di ritrovo di zafferanesi, sulla quale si apre un belvedere che dà sui sottosanti giardini pubblici,con curate siepi che formano disegni geometrici,palme e roseti e una bella fontana circolare. Di fronte alla piazza svetta il palazzo Municipale (fine ottocento),preceduto da una scalinata liberty a doppia rampa fiancheggiata da belle statue. Di fronte alla Piazza Umberto si erge maestosa la Chiesa Madre intitolata alla Madonna della Provvidenza,ricostruita dopo il terremoto del 1817. Randazzo Randazzo

Definita la città nera, per il colore della lava che lastrica le strade e che dà tono agli archi di porte e finestre, Randazzo si adagia su un ciglione lavico preistorico affacciato sulla sponda destra del fiume Alcantara, alle pendici settentrionali dell'Etna ed ai margini meridionali dei monti Nebrodi. Uva da mosto, olive, nocciole, mandorle e castagne. Wine grapes, olives, hazelnuts, almonds and chestnuts. Isole dei Ciclolpi Islands of Ciclolpi

L'Area Marina Protetta"Isole Ciclopi"si estende per la maggior parte nel territorio di Acicastello ed in quello di Acireale per una piccola porzione, in un incantevole proscenio naturale sormontato dal maestoso profilo dell'Etna. Fondata nel 735 AC da un gruppo di coloni che sbarcano a Capo Schisò e fondano la prima colonia greca di Sicilia che viene chiamata Naxos, come l'omonima isola del mare Egeo. Founded in 735 BC by a group of settlers who landed at Cape Schisò and founded the first Greek colony in Sicily called Naxos, as the eponymous island in the Aegean Sea.

Più a sud, un paesaggio suggestivo vi aspetta a Letojanni , piccolo villaggio di pescatori che al mare ha dedicato una festa: ogni estate, ad Agosto, sette carri siciliani trainati da grossi cavalli bardati con altissimi pennacchi, percorrono le vie del paese fino al mare dove, verso sera, una tonnara accoglie la statua di San Giuseppe per poi prendere il largo. La cucina è quella classica regionale con preminenza di verdura, fra le quali spiccano i carciofi ei pomodori. Rinomati anche i prodotti caseari come pecorini e ricotte. Unico vino DOC della provincia è il Cerasuolo di Vittoria, un rosso prodotto anche a Caltanissetta e Catania.

- Festa di S. Giovani Battista (27 - 29 ago).

Curiosità : nella piazzetta di Ragusa è stata girata la famosissima Fiction "Il Commissario Montalbano".

Portopalo di Capo Passero

Portopalo è un piccolo e suggestivo paese, che guarda l' Isola di Capo Passero , divisa dalla Sicilia da un breve canale. Un tempo, questa di Capo Passero era una delle maggiori tonnare che catturavano i tonni al termine della stagione estiva, dopo il ciclo riproduttivo. Gli impianti a terra delle grandi tonnare erano basi per la pesca (qui a Capo Passero la grande rete trappola sfruttava l'isolotto come punto d'appoggio; i capannoni che su di esso si scorgono erano pertinenze della tonnara), ma anche opifici industriali per la lavorazione del pescato.
Si può raggiungere l'isola:
- noleggiando un pedalò
- con l'escursione in barca
- camminando nel tratto di acqua meno profondo.

Curiosità: interessante osservare le onde prodotte dalle correnti dei due mari (Ionio e Mediteraneo) che qui si scontrano.
A pochi chilometri di distanza si può raggiungere l' Isola delle Correnti , che rappresenta il punto più meridionale dell'Italia.

Santo Stefano di Camastra

Santo Stefano di Camastra Particolare menzione è dovuta all'attività, di tradizione secolare, dei maestri ceramisti di S.Stefano di Camastra.
Conosciutissima per la produzione di mattonelle maiolicate che hanno ornato chiese, case gentilizie e umili abitazioni.
L'attività fittile anima l'intera cittadina, che si offre al visitatore , specie lungo la strada statale, con un incessante susseguirsi di coloratissime botteghe, piene di mascheroni, piatti, vasi e terrecotte figurate.
